Introducing…a DIGITAL IMAGE PACKAGE!

Posted in Digital Images, General on July 17th, 2008

Effective immediately, clients have the option to purchase the LOTUS COLLECTION. The LOTUS is a collection of 5×7 archivally printed Gift Prints from your session plus a CD of your session images. On the CD you will receive both the low resolution images, suitable for web-sharing and emails, as well as the high resolution images suitable for printing up to 11×14.

In addition, you receive a written release for printing your images as you choose, up to 11×14. For images 16×20 and larger, I ask that you contact me.

Clients who purchase the LOTUS COLLECTION will further receive 25% off of ala carte prints and enlargements/canvases as well as 50% off of the digital slideshow shown at their Proofing and Purchasing Appointment. No other discounts apply to the LOTUS COLLECTION.

My images are color-calibrated to my lab so I cannot guarantee color matching if you use a corner pharmacy or big-box retailer for printing. I provide the set of 5×7 images from your session so you will know how your images truly look when printed professionally and hope that you will recognize and appreciate the quality a lab such as the one I use can provide you, however you are granted the rights and file sizes appropriate to print up to 11×14.

As an introductory offer, the LOTUS COLLECTION sells for $650 plus applicable sales tax as required. Clients will also continue to have the option for studio sessions ($150), on-location sessions ($175) and mini-sessions ($100.) Session fees are in addition to print/file purchases.

I am pleased to offer the LOTUS COLLECTION and hope it meets your needs. I’ve had increased requests for digital images from clients who prefer to archive for themselves and am pleased to honor your requests! The LOTUS COLLECTION is being offered initially on a trial basis to determine popularity. It may be removed without notice at any time.

The LOTUS COLLECTION applies to images from ONE session. While we certainly appreciate clients who return for multiple sessions and contract with us for our GROWING or BEGINNINGS collections of sessions, as with print orders, we can only accommodate one session per print/file package (ie. each session will generate it’s own print or file order…one print or file package may not be spread across multiple sessions.)

I am scheduling now for HOLIDAY PORTRAITS, starting in August so call today to secure your session date and time!

Further upgrades to the site are in the works…

Help raise LRP’s ranking on GoogleMaps! Will just take a minute of your time…

Posted in General on July 15th, 2008

Ok…I tried to do this the other day but apparently I had to wait until Google added me to their business listing on GoogleMaps.

I am apparently on page 3 on the business listings in Cumming when you search GoogleMaps for Photographers and enter Cumming, GA. I would LOVE to raise up in the listing and the only way I can figure to do it is to get reviews. Would y’all mind reviewing me? If you like my work…if I’ve photographed your family or friends and were happy with my services, I would LOVE it if you would PLEASE review me! (Um…obviously I want positive reviews, so if for some reason you don’t feel you can give one, could you please contact me as to why not so I can rectify it for you? I’m not aware of any unhappy folks but I’d sure hate to find out on a review!)

It will take a minute of your time but it isn’t hard. Currently I am on page 3 and am letter “F” on that page. That may change as more reviews are listed so if I’m not where you expect to find me, please look through the pages.

How to find it…

Go to www.google.com

At the top, click “More” and click on “Maps”

Click “find businesses”

Enter “Photographers” in the “What” box and “Cumming, GA” in the “Where” box.

Go to page 3 and I am “F” on that page.

Click “Write a Review”

Also…if you have a blog of your own, please consider linking back to my site/blog.  Every little bit helps!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Mommy & Me Portraits…more of Miss Makenna!

Posted in infant, Sneak Peek...Recent Sessions! on July 14th, 2008

As you know, last week we had the best of intentions with our session.  However, Mother Nature got the best of us and I think it probably worked out for the best!  Today I had the pleasure of sitting again with Makenna, this time at her home with her Mommy.  Her mother wanted some Mommy & Me portraits of the two of them playing together.  The weather today was GORGEOUS, typical mid-July for Georgia.

As her grandparents have noted, Makenna smiles with her entire face…she’s such a happy little girl!

Makenna…6m

Posted in Sneak Peek...Recent Sessions! on July 10th, 2008

I had the opportunity this afternoon to play with what has to be the most smilingest 6 month old I’ve met in a long time!  (Sure…I know, that’s not a word…just go with it…she’s a cutie!)   Makenna was  such a happy little girl.  She found  everything super-amusing (except for laying on her back, apparently…) and I really enjoyed our time together.

You know, we’re having a drought in Georgia, right?  Funny, that, since it’s rained the last 3 days now…we were to do half of her session outdoors until it started to literally pour outside.  I’ll be visiting her at her home early next week to get some outdoors photos together with her mommy.

Until then, enjoy a mini-sneak peek of Miss Makenna!  There will be more to share next week!

The 4th of July in Atlanta…what would it be without the Peachtree Road Race?

Posted in General on July 6th, 2008

As always, from time to time I share bits and pieces from my life ;)  This year I did the Peachtree for the first time, together with my dear friend.  She flew down from DC to do it with me.  We had a great time!

If you need assistance with anything, I will be in touch again on Monday, July 7.  I took the holiday weekend for family time following the race on Friday.

Amazing the quality a little camera phone can manage ;)

in case you noticed the downtime earlier…

My apologies for anyone seeking to view my blog earlier today.  I had some technical issues that were resolved with the patient attention of my host, Michelle of Elemental Muse.  I can’t recommend her services highly enough…this wasn’t the first jam I’ve managed to create for myself that she’s fixed for me!

Everything is fine now and I promise I won’t try tweaking anything further on my own (for now!)

SMASH! goes the cake…Ryan is ONE!

Posted in Sneak Peek...Recent Sessions! on June 17th, 2008

Ryan is a recent Growing Collection graduate client.  I have been photographing little Ryan quite literally since birth and was pleased to see how he’s grown over the last year!  He came to play yesterday for his one year old session…after a few portraits to get started, the real fun began ;)

I hope you enjoy seeing Mr. Ryan as he enjoys his cake.  This sneak peek will have more images than the typical because I couldn’t pick just 4!

If you have a soon-to-be one year old baby and are interested in a Smash the Cake Session, please don’t hesitate to contact me.  For those of you who are part of my Growing Collection, this is an option you already have open to you!

The maternity gallery on the main site is updated!

Posted in General on June 13th, 2008

Take a look! I updated with current work…everything I added is current work from 2008. Over the next week the remainder of the galleries will receive a similar new look!

Your Proofing & Purchasing Appointment…what to expect & how to get the most out of it.

Posted in General on June 11th, 2008

I tell clients it always helps to start the night before. Make a list of family and friends who may appreciate a gifted photograph. Decide what size you would like to get for whom…you can decide which image once you get here.

Plan which Print Package would best suit your needs…maybe it’s one of the Packages listed on the website and in your Welcome Guide you received at your session. Or…maybe you have a wall display in mind. Measure out your walls before you come so you know the size of the space you wish to fill. I have on display many different sizes. Most people are shocked when they see just how small an 11 x 14 really is on the wall…for some reason we’re programmed to feel an 8 x 10 is a large print.

I also have a session album on display in my office, along with other products you may like, such as coasters customized with portraits from your session.

Bring your list with you when you come. When you arrive, once you are settled, you’ll first view a custom slideshow of your images. Custom DVD slideshows are $250 with any purchase of $450 or more, so if you like the slideshow and wish to have it for your own…let me know! I am happy to add it to your order.

After the slideshow, I will pull out the proofing box. The box contains a few things…some white gloves, pencils, my Inspire Guide for Wall Displays and your Ordering Guide, individualized to your session…along with the complete set of 5 x 7 proofs. The proofs are full-resolution, fully edited images and are the prints I will use in your Session Album should you purchase one.

I use white cotton gloves for handling all photographs while in my possession, and we will use them during your Proofing & Purchasing Appointment when we handle your proofs. This protects your images from the oils in our skin which will cause the prints to degrade over time.

The Ordering Guide is essentially an ordering worksheet customized to your session. Inside you will find thumbnails of each of the proofs from your session, with a brief place beside each for notes regarding sizes, quantity and more. This guide is permanently bound and is what I use when I prepare your order for the lab and later, for packaging. It is designed for you to write inside, so please do so! This guide stays with me after your session so I may use it for your order.

The Inspire Guide for Wall Displays is just that…it is a bound collection of wall and home displays. Each display in the Inspire Guide is listed at a 10% discount over ala carte pricing. It helps you visualize how different sized images may work together on your walls at home to create custom fine art, designed from your family’s images!

I am happy to insert any of your images into a wall display on my screen so that you may see how your personal images may look together.  Feel free to move the proofs around on the table, see how they may compliment one another when juxtaposed next to each other.  See if you can tell a story with the portraits…and visualize that on your wall.  I am happy to help in any way.

Once you’ve gone through your proofs and matched them to the list you brought, we’ll take a look at the storyboards I designed for you.  If you wish to purchase one, I’ll add it to your total.  I’ll ask you if you’d like an online gallery posted for any out of town family and friends…and if so, when you’d like that to go online.  It will be active for 3 days online.

Once we’re finished, I’ll total up your order.  At this time, you will remit payment and we’re all done!  Family and friends may still order from the online gallery, via email or phone.  Depending upon the products you ordered, it will take approximately 3 weeks for your order to arrive.
