Q: WHAT ABOUT PRICING? HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
A: Lotus Rain Photography provides a custom, full-service portraiture service. Session retainers start at $200. The average Lotus Rain client will invest $1500-2000 for portrait sessions (maternity, newborn, child, family, senior, etc) and $5000-8000 for weddings/events.
Finance options are available via PayPal Credit (terms vary) or through Lotus Rain Photography with zero interest. Orders are fulfilled when final payment has cleared.
Q: HOW DO I BOOK YOU FOR MY MATERNITY PHOTOS & HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I BOOK?
A: A retainer of half of the total amount & a signed contract are required to reserve your session. The remaining balance is due 5 days prior to the session. I suggest you plan to have your session around 32-33 weeks of pregnancy. For maternity, generally booking 6-8 weeks in advance of your session is recommended.
Q: HOW CAN WE BOOK FOR MY NEWBORN IF I DON’T KNOW WHEN MY BABY WILL BE BORN?
A: Just like with any session, a retainer of half the total amount & a signed contract are required to reserve a session. I strongly suggest you book prior to giving birth in order to ensure availability. When your baby is born, please have someone let me know (text is fine!) & we can firm up a time/date for once you get home. I suggest you plan to have your newborn’s session within the first 10 days of life. GROWING session options offer additional payment options.
Q: HOW DO I BOOK YOU FOR MY WEDDING OR EVENT & HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I BOOK?
A: A retainer of half of the total amount & a signed contract are required to reserve your event. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the event. I book a limited number of weddings/events per year, so the earlier the better. I will book up to 2 years in advance.
Q: DO I GET A USB DRIVE OF IMAGES?
A: If you’d like one – ABSOLUTELY! Digital files are a part of some IMAGE PACKAGES or are available for individual purchase. You may choose digital downloads or a USB Drive for your image delivery.
Q: AFTER THE SESSION HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE OUR IMAGES?
A: At your session, we will schedule your Viewing & Ordering Session. Generally, this will occur about a week after your session. All parties responsible for purchasing decisions are expected to be present at this appointment, as you will place your order at that time. With your paid order, I will share several web-sized images via Social Media, selected from those you purchased. Feel free to tag yourself and share! Prints, albums, canvases, and other products have varied delivery times. I’ll give you a customized delivery estimate when you place your order.
Q: WHAT ABOUT OUR WEDDING? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE OUR IMAGES/PACKAGE?
A: At your pre-wedding consultation, we will schedule your Viewing & Ordering Session. Generally for weddings, you can expect this appointment to take place 3-6 weeks after your wedding. All parties responsible for purchasing decisions are expected to be present at this appointment, as you will place your order at that time. With your paid order, I will share several web-sized images via Social Media, selected from those you purchased. Feel free to tag yourself and share! Prints, albums, canvases, and other products have varied delivery times. I’ll give you a customized delivery estimate when you place your order.
Q: WHAT IF I NEED MY IMAGES MORE QUICKLY?
A: That’s not a problem! Let me know & we can work that into the contract. There will be an additional fee for expedited services & products.
Q: WHO OWNS THE COPYRIGHT TO THE IMAGES?
A: I do & I retain the right to use the images, without compensation or notification to the client, to promote my business. I may display them in or outside my office or the offices of partnering vendors, post them on this site, Facebook, Twitter, on a blog, in a magazine, book, app or social network.
Q: BUT WHAT IF I DON’T WANT YOU TO USE MY IMAGES?
A: Promotional use of the images is how I get new business. I am very proud of my work & also like to get published & give back. It gives me that extra motivation for me to do my best work.
Q: CAN I PLEASE GIVE APPROVAL FOR YOU TO USE IMAGES OR HAVE THE IMAGES KEPT PRIVATE?
A: Definitely, but there may be a charge for limiting the use of the images. Let me know your concerns and we’ll work out the details in the contract.
Q: WHAT ARE THE CLIENT’S USE OF THE IMAGES?
A: Copies of the final digital files are available for purchase.
If the Client purchases digital files, the client will receive a download, disc or flashdrive of high-resolution, non-watermarked, edited, color corrected, digital files (not the RAW images). The Client is granted a non-exclusive personal use license to print &/or display the images provided by the Photographer to the Client for non-commercial purposes. The Client shall not sell said images or falsely represent the authorship of the images. The Client agrees to include “Photo by Lotus Rain Photography” or “Photo by LotusRainPhotography.com” with any photo or set of photos published publicly: on the internet, Facebook etc. The only acceptable non-credited use would be for private display in the home. The Client agrees to not submit the photos to professional publications (magazines, newspapers, style blogs, etc). The Photographer will handle image distribution to professional publications & other vendors.
Q: WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE IMAGES? CAN I SEE THE REST OF THE PICTURES YOU TOOK OR CAN WE GET A REFUND?
A: All of my work is custom and thus is not subject to refund. Please review my portfolios & social media pages to review my artistic style to ensure it is in line with your needs & vision for your images prior to booking your session. The final images displayed during your Viewing & Ordering Session are the final images – there are no further images to view. Trust that although I take additional shots during sessions, I do so in order to create the absolute best final product for you & any images in excess of the final gallery are culled during editing.
