THINGS YOU MAY NEED TO KNOW
**************************************************************************************************************************************************
Thank you for your interest in Lotus Rain Photography! I am pleased to be invited to capture your family and
preserve your memories at this time. The following is a
collection of information I have found most clients
ask
about prior to their sessions.
Most of our
policies and typical procedures are explained on this page.
Sometimes, things may change slightly but
for the most
part, we've found that the following works well for our clients.
I
invite you to take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the
information below. It will serve you well throughout
your custom portraiture experience with Lotus Rain
Photography...everything from payments, what to wear for your
portraits to proofing and purchasing is explained right here!
Please do not ever hesitate to call me if you have any questions about
anything...I am always happy to answer
any and all questions,
to make suggestions or just to chat about your session!
Fondly,

Half of your session fee is required as a deposit to hold your scheduled date & time. The balance is due the date
of your session. If you schedule for a date fewer than 5
days in advance, the entire fee is due in full upon booking.
payment options
I accept cash, checks and all major credit cards.
personal checks
Please make personal checks out to Lotus Rain Photography.
There is a surcharge for all returned checks.
re-shoots
If a re-shoot is needed due to a malfunction on my behalf, there
will be no additional charge to you. If, however,
a re-shoot is needed because your subjects are not ready on
time, your child is having a rough day, is ill or otherwise
unwilling, re-shoots are at full price.
Please try to arrive (or be ready) promptly for your scheduled
session. If you are tardy, your session may be cut
short to accomodate other clients who are scheduled after you,
or may be resheduled at your expense.
under the weather
If you or your child wake up sick the morning of your session,
call me. We will reschedule as soon as I have
available. Re-scheduling is subject to a $25 fee if I am given
less than 24 hours notice.
exclusive photographer
While I am present & shooting, there will be no
other recording devices present. This means cameras and
video. I reserve the right to end a session
immediately with no refund in such a situation. Thank you for
understanding.

The day of your session
Things to keep in mind.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
how to dress
Dress you and your child(ren) comfortably, in non-restrictive clothing on the day of your session. Be especially
mindful of socks and other elastics which may leave marks on
delicate skin. Prepare non-messy snacks and plenty
of bottles in advance. Bottled water is great for children
and adults both.
When in doubt,
solids always work best. If yours is a studio session, white is a
great option, however if you will be
photographed
outdoors, please avoid white or similar colors. For family groups,
coordinating colors tend to work
nicely and may lend
visual interest to both color and black & white images.
Avoid plaids, stripes, logos and character clothing. These
may look cute in person but tend to be visually distracting
in portraiture. We want you and your child(ren) to be the
focus, not Spiderman.
Think comfortable,
casual REAL clothing for your family. Newborns look best in their
birthday suit or a diaper. I supply
a
neutral cloth diaper to cover the characters prevalent on paper
diapers. Loveys or heirloom items are welcome.
All of that said, if your toddler believes that rainboots and a
tutu look great that day, consider going with it. You may
be uniquely surprised at how that turns out...and will certainly
avoid unnecessary picture-day tantrums.
If you need help, contact me for shopping suggestions.
some things to consider
I am seeking to capture those expressions that your child makes which are special and unique to him or her. I don't do
"cheese" and have found cajoling the child to "smile" rarely
achieves that result. I have plenty of tricks up
my sleeve to
get your child to relax and show me their true smile.
Parents, please consider giving me some time
to get to know your child before we jump right into shooting.
Sometimes when
mom steps back and lets me
talk to her child, the child feels less pressure to perform and is able
to relax. As Mom to
3 kids, I'm sure I can get your child to play along!
Expect newborn and infant sessions to take a while. Babies
tend to fuss and need to nurse more often when we
"mess" with them. Don't worry...try to relax, nurse and
I'll get exactly what I need.
Your session
will take a couple of hours, including set-up. Please be sure
that you and your child(ren) have had a good
meal
before we start. We can take breaks for nursings, diapers, potty
breaks and just to let off steam but a hungry
child
(or parent) is never happy! Consider scheduling your session
after your child(ren)s nap as well.

After your session
All about the pictures.

sneak peek
Within a week of your session, I will post a sneak peek on the
blog. The sneak peek is 2-4 watermarked, low-resolution
images from your session. Be sure to share the blog link
with family & friends! I love blog comments on your photos.
proofing & purchasing appointment
The remainder of your proofs will be available for viewing about
3 weeks from your session. I will contact you to
schedule your Proofing & Purchasing Appointment, which will
take place in my office/studio. You will view full-resolution,
completely finished images printed as 5x7 Gift Prints.
The proofs you will view are available for purchase as well.
All parties responsible for purchasing
decisions should attend this meeting as orders will be placed at this time.
online proofing gallery
Upon request and with receipt of your paid order, I will host a
private, online proofing gallery for you. The gallery will
be completely private and will be live for 3 days. We
discuss scheduled dates for your gallery so as to be convenient
for out-of-town family and friends. I can take their
orders as well, via email or phone.
final prints
Generally, most print orders are ready for pick-up at my
office/studio about 3 weeks after your order payment has cleared.
Gallery-wrapped canvas products may take up to 6 weeks for
delivery and orders containing albums may take 4 weeks.
Orders are pick-up only. Unfortunately, the US Postal
Service doesn't appreciate your photography quite the same way
as you or I would. Besides, it's part of the fun for me to
see you unwrap your final prints!
handling your prints
Your prints are professionally printed works of art. I use
white cotton gloves when handling your images while they are in my
possession. We use them together at your Proofing &
Purchasing Appointment. Once you have your order at home, please
take care not to expose the prints to extremes of light, heat,
cold or damp. Touch them alongside the edges only
and handle them infrequently.
image archiving
I maintain your PURCHASED digital image files for one year after
your last session with me. Non-purchased images are subject
to deletion at any time 30 days after your Proofing &
Purchasing Appointment, without further notice. If you purchase
digital files from Lotus Rain Photography, please make back-up
copies immediately in multiple locations.
reprints
Reprints are available at any time during that year and are
subject to currently published prices.
usage
I reserve the right to use any images owned by Lotus Rain
Photography in publications, online and for physical display.
Besides
the online blog and website, I
participate from time to time in local showings and displays in and
around the Cumming &
Alpharetta, GA areas.
Should you wish to have copies of any of your images in digital
form for your own use, contact me for current pricing.
copyright
Lotus Rain Photography LLC & Tracey Bond retain ownership of
all images, in accordance with United States Copyright Law.
I publish low-resolution, heavily watermarked copies of your
images on the blog and galleries. Copying and unauthorized
use of those images is prohibited by U.S.Copyright Law and
subject to fines up to $100,000 for each instance.
Should
you wish digital copies of images from your session(s), contact me for
current pricing.
